Once upon a time, in a long ago D&D campaign, a DM was heard to say "You all enter an inn." The group, wise-asses that they were, demanded to know what the name of the inn was. The DM was forced to come up with a name on the spot, and thus The Flaming Jessie was born.
And so that's how things go. The self-same Jessie that The Flaming Jessie was named after had a birthday in May, so I had the brilliant idea of actually making the inn sign. Luckily, I remember that hiding in the house somewhere was a small, decorational, wooden sled. So my dad just ripped off the runners for me, sanded it down, and this sled ended up being the perfect shape for a sign. I have found that I like painting signs. I wish to do more.
I really miss playing D&D. We didn't even play it properly, we just laughed our asses off and never paid strict attention to the rules. If I had to play it seriously I wouldn't play it at all. *sigh* Those were the days.
